Catholic, Baptist, Presbyterian, Pentecost...and so what?
Colossians 2:8 "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."
Please someone help me quote one scripture in the Bible that even suggests that where we choose to fellowship will affect our relationship with God. Why are we Christians so busy fighting over whose doctrine is right while ignoring the Truth about what actually makes us children of God. All Christians, without question claim to accept the Bible as God's infallible Word, however, how much emphasis do we make on the importance of studying and meditating on the Word? If all of us who call ourselves CHRISTians actually took the time to know and follow Christ through His Word such issues will not exist.
Colossians 2:8 "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."
Therefore, before blindly adhering to any man-made doctrines, we should make sure they are in line with God's Word for Christ Himself said in Luke 16:15 "And He said unto them, "Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.""
Verse 16 of Colossians Chapter 2 further emphasizes the fact that our religious activities do not save us or determine the strength of our relationship with God... "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy day, or of the new moon or of the Sabbath days:" So come on guys, let us grow up and be united as Christians...true followers of Christ!
